Dear First Family,
These are days of great anticipation for our church family. Joe Loughlin made the comment that we fired him on May 5. While that may be true, we are grateful for his ministry at FBC Temple. As our church family begins to look toward the arrival of the Marriott family, please join us in praying for them and for the transition to be smooth as they get settled in their new home and place of ministry.
Thank you for your faithfulness in supporting the $1 Million/1 Day Hunger Offering. We have received $5382.20 and will be sending it on to Texas Baptists for ministry needs within our state. You continue to demonstrate an understanding of our third W, Contribute to God’s Work. Thank you for your generosity.
Day at the Lake is this coming Sunday. It will be a great time of fellowship as we join with our congregation for fun at the Temple Lake Park Pavilion. There will be attendants at the gate; tell them you are with First Baptist Temple for free admission in the park. The festivities will begin at 12:30 with lunch. The church will provide hot dogs, buns and condiments. Please bring chips, veggies, beans, potato salad, dessert or drinks to share with others. We will have ample ice and water available. There will be live music periodically throughout the afternoon. Since we will be under the pavilion and sheltered from the sun, feel free to bring games to play: cards, dominoes or board games. Our recreation crew will also have some organized games to play with others. If you have a boat or watercraft and would like to bring it, please do so. You will be responsible, however, for the operation of it. Dinner will be served beginning at 5:30 and will be hamburgers. Once again, bring something to share. Day at the Lake is a come and go event; if you can only stop by for a short time, please do so! The day concludes at 7:30 PM. We’ll see you then!
Other Items of note this week:
This Sunday Joe Loughlin will be preaching. We look forward to seeing you this coming Sunday morning for worship! Invite someone to come with you.
