Dear First Family,
God is at work in our midst. As members of FBC Temple, we are committed to the 5 Ws: Worship God, Live by God's Word, Contribute to God's Work, Walk with God's People, Impact God's World. Our times of worship this past weekend were sweet. Many are walking together as God's people; as needs arise with one another, we hear of many that are ministering in the name of Christ and meeting those needs. We are impacting God's World; a group of 28 people prepared a meal and served over 85 in the homeless community this past Saturday through the Feed My Sheep ministry. And God added to the number; during this past Sunday evening's New Member Workshop, 9 people joined our family of faith including one by profession of faith. Indeed, God is at work in our midst.
Beginning this Sunday, there will be two forums for our church family to hear the recommendation from the Strategy Committee concerning our Phase 1 Building Project. You will hear their presentation and be able to ask questions. The forums will be held on Sunday evenings, February 19 and 26. The forums will begin at 5:00 PM in the Worship Center Downtown. Sunday, March 4, at the end of each morning worship service, we will enter into a Called Business Meeting. Church members will vote by ballot without discussion on the Strategy Committee's recommendation.
Advance briefings are scheduled beginning February 27 concerning a new initiative called Even Greater Things. If you would like to attend one to learn more about the future of First Baptist Temple, please contact Gail Koontz (773.6866, gailkoontz@fbc-temple.org).
We hope that you will join us in worship this coming Sunday. Preaching this Sunday will be Dr. Todd Still, Professor of Christian Scripture at Baylor's Truett Seminary, a post that he has held since 2003. He teaches courses in New Testament Studies and Greek. He is not a stranger to us at FBC Temple; he has shared the Word with us several times over the past year. Please join us and bring someone with you. We look forward to seeing you there.
Your Ministerial Staff,
Jonathan Brown Jim Siegel Doug Young Gary Anthony Kay Bacon
