Mission New Orleans
March 7-11, 2007
A group of eight left for New Orleans on March 7. We arrived about 3:30 pm. This group included Barbara Collins, Chuck Cox, Stephanie Fondy, Linda Fortson, Tom Gunter, Russell Jones, Jimmy Mullins and Richard Stearns. We helped finish one of the Habitat for Humanity houses that was to be dedicated and given to the owner on Saturday, March 10. We painted, hauled dirt, landscaped and the guys built two porches for the house. We were able to meet the homeowner. Her name is Janelle. Her home was destroyed during Hurricane Katrina and she was so excited and thankful for her new home. We also did some interior work on another home that should be ready for the new owner this week. We were able to have a brief visit with David and Janet Crosby of First Baptist Church, New Orleans. They send their love and appreciation to our church for our support during this time of disaster recovery for their church and the city of New Orleans.
